With a hydraulic lifter, first set the gap to zero lash, and then set the preload. A slightly more aggressive street or track upgrade. Lifters been out of the motor with no oil for into them for couple of weeks, i'll soak them in oil and see if it gets better.

We've got flat tappet and roller designs in stock. Hold a lifter with the flat face up and tap it on a block of wood. These are items that can wear, and build up with sludge. Adjusting hydraulic lifters is different.
